LowRider
I found
this bad boy at the LHS. The Bolink
Legends of R/C 40' Coupe. Couldn't pass it up. It just
looks like such a pimp ride.
I masked
off the windows, some small portions of the hood, as the grill
and side running boards.
Base
coat was a thin layer of Pactra
Purple Pearl backed heavily with Pactra
Grape Pearl (which is darker). The effect was a sort of
Iridescence between the two colors. After removing all but
the window masks, I put down Pactra
Indy Silver which backed the color, plus shown through
portions of the hood and colored the running boards silver.
I wanted to use a good coat of tint, so I first layed down
the recommended Pactra White Opaque Covercoat (no link found)
in two heavy coats. Without that, you run the risk of thinning
(ruining) your other coats. After removing the window masks,
I laid down a few thin coats of Pactra
Window Tint.
Again
I used the Lowered Mounts.
I also
purchased some RPM
Chrome Claws, and Road
Rage II tires to get that pimped out lowrider look. In
addition to that I added Titanium
Linkages, and a ton of colored stuff.
This
was also about the time that I upgraded to Aluminum
Casterblocks.
This
body was featured in the LowRider
video. It is semi-retired now. I don't want to bust it up,
because it looks so nice. I have completely disassembled the
truck that's shown below as well. The street tires just didn't
really work out as I had hoped. Not enough traction for my
likes. Back to the Masher
2000s. |
