Don't
worry about wearing pegs out ever again. You can use Differential
Balls instead of slipper pegs. Some gears work better than others,
such as this HPI
Spur Gear that these Associated
Diff Balls snap right into.
You'll
need to do the final adjustment of the clutch after you give the
balls a half a run to seat themselves.

Note: Not sure about these with Brushless Motors. I melted the spur
up pretty good.

Manipulating
the stock u-joints can be very frustrating, especially when trying
to use the Traxxas supplied tool. Doing this to a flathead screwdriver
will make it VERY easy to pop them in or out. Take care to not jam this tool into your hand/fingers. It will bite you. Warming with a hairdryer can make assembly even easier.
A
Dremel with a cutoff wheel is the fastest way to do it. You could
use a file instead.
This
is a great way to work on the ole Pede. Whether it is tightening
down the slipper or adjusting the gear mesh, this trick will put
things in an easy position to work on.
They
sell this great piece of work at many hardware stores. Great for
soldering. Great for assembling CVDs.
Also
the "grippy" found underneath is found at kitchen stores.
Its great for creating a no-slip surface. You can also wrap it around
little allen wrenches to save from bruising your fingertips.
You
can do your own mounts to get a much lower look. Find out the details
here.
